Jay, I hope you adjust soon. What an adventure.
Jenny, enjoy your sewing space. I hope young Missy (Gigi? love that name) likes her new room.

Dubhels I would probably leave it. There’s a whole tribe of long stitch is best sewers out there, or I’d just stitch over with a shorter stitch length. Not that I’ve ever done that…. certainly not often enough to have a contingency plan already in place. 🙂
What I’d love is a sewing machine that made a beeping sound like a reversing truck when…[Read more]

Oh I have done that too. So frustrating.
I have just sewn two rows of stitching a few mm apart on the class picnic elastic ends after having to fish out 3 of the 6 ends on the previous ones as they had come undone. Next time I will read all forum posts on a pattern before making. I am sure it will save time.

Well, I’m a little late but…Sew more for myself. Sew things my daughter will actually wear. I get tired of making things that don’t get worn. I would like to work more with hand embroidery. It’s fun and portable (but I don’t know what I’m doing.) Use fabric I already own and only buy fabric that is in plain colors. I have so many busy…[Read more]

We should start a knitter’s club! Seems like lots of do other fiber crafts on the side.
Jay, a new machine sounds so exciting! What do you have in mind?

I’m frustrated waiting til our stuff arrives, and I buy a new sewing machine. I have two lovely lengths of wool to make a pencil skirt and a pair of wide leg, high waist trousers. Meanwhile, I’m working on a cardigan I’ve been knitting since before Audrey was born. I’ve just got to finish the tops of both sleeves and sew it together.
I’m all…[Read more] -

Oh Nicole…. we are good. I wanted to give @justsewit some support, some hugs.
The stats on maternal mortality around the world are truly terrifying. We are so lucky to live in this world today, compared to even a few generations ago, when pregnancy and delivery were truly life threatening.

Aaaargh, the irritation of discovering that you forgot to change your stitch length back between basting and sewing. Now to go and unpick a well colour matched thread on a moderately loosely woven linen/cotton blend, all to be packed in while the babe has her first ever over an hour nap in her crib without being latched on…. quick, come here…[Read more]
