Epic weather man fail! We had about 1 whole inch. The kids were seriously disappointed actually. At least I had helpers with the cleaning! Which gave me time to cut out this sweater. I might even be able to sew it up, actually, as it’s a really simple pattern.

Thanks for the link Nicole. I am not going to line the sleeves, so I may go with your option #2. I’m excited to pull out this pattern – one of my favorites!

In general, it’s fine to cut across the grain. The cross grain and length grain (weft and warp) are ALMOST interchangeable in many instances. Cross grain with have more stretch, and length grain is usually stronger and may drape a little better. But if you’re working with cotton and kids clothes, there really won’t be too much of a difference. Just FYI.
