@magonomics did it work out well? I was having a look at the latest buterfly top and noticed I accidentally puckered it while sewing the facing down. I usually like to hamdstitch the facing. It seems to have a much better result for some reason.

i’m ironing mine within an inch of it’s life and sewing it by hand. so far so good!

The only underwear I’ve made are those that go inside swim shorts. Courtesy of Jalie who I think have exceptional swimwear patterns (but then I haven’t tried others so…) i would think their underwear patterns would be very straight forward.

i don’t make underwear (yet!) but i have had these same thoughts when i find nice jersey or cotton prints. I completely understand and agree with you there Susan! I just love to see my kids wear what I make and I am very grateful for the knowledge that has been presented to us and how sewing is coming to the forefront again. It is very therapeutic! Genius! This is why I post things here – you guys have all the best tricks, by which I mean a boatload more sewing experience than me.

(Incidentally, I’m totally taking your advice on my question about the FT Cargoes just as soon as the fabric I ordered for them gets here.)

To achieve that, I would cut the exact same size again, but sew the side/sleeve seam with a bigger seam allowance.
An extra 1/4″ seam allowance will take 1/2 an inch off the sleeve circumference and a full inch off the chest/body.
Saves on retracing the pattern in another size.
