My 10yo needs pants, so I started sewing up a pair of parachute sweatpants this evening. The side stripe is such a nice feature! I didn’t check for fit, but if they’re small my daughter can wear them eventually. I plan to leave out the elastic around the ankles because he prefers sporty pants (like track pants) that aren’t tight at the bottom. The…[Read more]

@withloveHeidi, we suspect she is also a little stressed oyt with everything that is on her plate. We are seeking help for the things she needs help with though and the staff are so good in the fact that we don’t need to think negativeky. They are genuinely interested in her wellbeing, not like at the last school.

Update on my darling hubby, we…[Read more]

  • I’ve only just realised I haven’t smocked anything for Chloë apart from the school days jacket and the carousel dress. Of course I am planning to use smocking in the Easter dress. Being currently away from home, the plans are halted somewhat but the mind is still buzzing with ideas.

  • My youngest son’s outfit is done and the two middle boys’ vests are almost finished too. My little boy is thrilled with his outfit. The plus side for me is that I can sew the Art Museum pattern with out pulling out the instructions anymore. It is another O+S favorite in our home. I need to get to the smocking on the Garden party dress finished…[Read more]

  • I just went and checked Instagram, love that new dress! Twirly, princess seams, beautiful!

  • While not Easter, I am looking forward to the new dress pattern you previewed. My daughter has kindergarten graduation in June. That pattern is the perfect level of dressy casual.

    I can’t wait. 🙂

  • I was trying to line the lullaby layette pants but no now I need to unpick 🙁
Stupid thing 1: sewed while tired and feeling slightly unwell
Stupid thing 2: sewed after 9pm at night
Stupid thing 3: did not stop after making first mistake!
Stupid thing 4: not checking I could turn them through once pinned
Result: endless loop of pants and lining…[Read more]

  • That waterfall neckline sounds interesting, I would like to see it. I discover I like waterfall cardigans after making the Swoon one last year.
I’m finally adding elastic to the waists of 2 pairs of denim layette pants. I feel like I haven’t sewn much in the last week or so, hoping to get back to it this weekend.

  • Thanks, folks! I was able to find the errata and made the corrections on my pattern. I am constructing the shirt now.

I changed up a Metro tee to have a waterfall neckline last year and I have now made my second one (with a third in the pipe line as I’m still undecided on the colour of the second one).

I was super pleased with the first version of the waterfall neckline so I didn’t make any changes to it other than cutting a long sleeve but that was because I…[Read more]

I thought I’d revive this thread – I know some of you are interested.

Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to her second child, a boy, yesterday evening.

The new little Prince will be named Oscar Carl Olof and has been made Duke of Skåne (Scania, my county actually, yay!) by his grandfather the King.

The only two persons who were Duke…[Read more]

  • So glad to hear she’s enjoying school, Tamara!
I also didn’t see the maintenance notification, this is the first time e I’ve been able to find the site in over a week. Although I was able to see this forum once during the week on my phone so I knew what was going on,even there I couldn’t get the new site the next day.
It’s good to be back 🙂
