In the written instructions it will tell you that they’re 1/2″ (as per every Oliver + S pattern.
Be aware that many of us find the hat runs small compared to the suggested age, but quite true to the measured size. Make sure you measure your kids noggin. If in any doubt I’d say go up a size.

When I was making the Swing Sew Tunic I got the straps twisted! Talented, I know!!!

I made a Carousel dress for Liddy (11),today.

I used sand coloured velvet/uncut cord (not sure what it is) with red topstitching. It has quite a medieval feel to it.

So basically, you lay your hem gauge on the wrong side of the fabric and pull the raw edge to the inch mark you want. Like in the second picture (don’t know why they reversed), I pulled it taut to the 5/8″ and ironed. You would do that to your whole piece you are hemming, then in the second picture I pulled it taut to the 1 1/2″…[Read more]

Did you hold the gallery and the cinema together to see they fit? Just clarifying as that is what I think you mean. If they are a perfect fit, I can’t see why you couldn’t just swap them, but that’s just my two cents.

@georgeandizzy that’s awesome! I made one out of a piece of printer paper but the curved edge on the one in your link looks easier to use. Picking one up on my next trip to Joann’s!

When I made this skirt, I had to put in a couple tiny tucks on the folded-under edge to get it to lay flat. The tucks aren’t visible from the outside of the dress :-).
