Heidi, you are kind, you remind of an Aunt of mine who never wed. She made us the most amazing gifts, we adored her.
My go-to teen boy gift is a shoe bag, like the drawstring bag in the LTTS book (I know you have that). I also like to pop a small pack of wet ones and some Scuff Stuff shoe polish in it.
Voila, a travellers shoe cleaning kit.

Christmas sewing?? I haven’t even thought of Christmas sewing! I am still sewing for baby and squeezing in a few things for the big kids. I have a funeral to sew for soon which even though it is the most morbid of events to sew for I really need to start on, just in case it is all in a rush!
I will have to give Christmas sewing a miss this year I…[Read more]

Wow! Too cold for the coat! That would be an experience we here never have! Ususally it is too warm for the coat!
I am up to sewing – yay! Done the front bodices and the back and am in the middle of sewing the hood, just got to trim. Then topstitching and applying the extra bits and pieces.
My aim is to get through the vast majority today – and…[Read more]

I finished Trixie’s Bubble dress up to hand sewing the bodice and buttons/buttonholes. Hugo was studying for exams so her nursed *held* her so I could get stuck in.
I couldn’t finish the sewing as the house was filling with insects. I have no idea how they all got in but they were going for the lights. So annoying as Jed was reaping until 1:30 and…[Read more] -

Justine is spot on with dag.
The dress style of ‘daggy’ is less complimentary, ‘dag’ is more affectionate.A true dag is a product of sheep waste and wool, don’t google image it.
Crayon here.
We now regularly use ‘amaze balls’ and ‘awesome sauce’ in our current vernacular. We call them ‘britterism’s’ from the awesome Brittney.
I definitely use…[Read more]

Tamara replied to the topic Pattern storage? Ideas please! in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 11 years ago
I have a multitude of methods as I am yet to find the method that can accomodate all of them. I have a set of draws that are filled to the brim of patterns and because I have up until now used just the larger sizes, there are not many traced pieces to place in the pattern envelope. I do have display folders (like what Heidi mentioned above)…[Read more]

In South Australia it is generally a ‘soft’ drink or a ‘softie’. Our family calls it ‘fizzy’.
