I have the two big kids at home unwell so not much is happening in the sewing room at present. Its a shame because I signed up for kcw and it starts today!

I ended up cutting two more parachute polos out yesterday instead of the intended drafting of above said patterns. I hope to include these in the projects intended for thos week.

Oh fencing! My eldest wants to learn but we live in the sticks and there is no instruction anywhere!

I am almost complete with the parachute polo. Today is perfect sewing weather (raining outside) so I intend to settle in for the day but probably not sew, just tidy up a bit and cut things instead.

    Hi Peeps 🙂

My guinea pig internet can’t cope with the flash new forum so if you want me @motherof5 me, and I will wander out in the paddock and try and connect.

Well I started on the parachute polo today. I hd to cut a second front because it seems I don’t know my right from my left! Fortunately I got it correct second time around. I am now up to stitching the sleeves, after spending time hand basting. I find that interlock can be a bit of a beast and my machine likes to eat it!

Oh both options seem pleasing! I was thinking of drafting the butterfly skirt myself tonight but ended up hand basting the sleeves to the parachute polo instead.

Good to hear it was as simple as a new lens script Nicole.

Thank you @justsewit , a new lens prescription and the advice to keep an eye on her. No drops today but I can understand your little mans reluctance, the Twins said they do sting a bit.

You could try two rows. I have just attached the collar to mine (6-12 months) and it took a little bit of careful manipulation. Hand basting is very beneficial to tame it in. I’m using interlock and it can be temperamental.

And I too stuffed the first front with the placket! Did it the wrong way around!

Hope it was that simple Nicole! My kids were under opthamologist care until last year. The girls at the optometrist I go to are hoping Chloe won’t need a referral too! So far so good but you never know. She would have to have drops when she visits doesn’t she? I had to hold Noah down for them along with two other adults he hated them that…[Read more]

@dubhels2003 Helena, my three older kids all had the chicken pox about 16 months ago; my son was only a year old at the time. He had a very mild case – and in general I have heard that the younger ones do better. He was just a little cranky, ran a fever for a day or two, and didn’t seem to be bothered by the actual pox very much. My…[Read more]

@dubhels2003 I am sorry for her. I can remember Chicken Pox and bathing with a calico sachet of oats in the water.

I am heading to the city so shall have good internet for the day but not for a fun reason. Lidia (11) is having vision problems and I ranG her ophthalmologist and he wanted to see her ASAP.
Fingers crossed it is just a lens adjustment.

Probably. I know it is huge in some European royal families to have their children wear smocked clothing – Netherlands comes to mind there. I love his little outfit he is wearing in the photo.

It would be fun to see how he is dressed as he grows.
