The most challenging sewing project I have taken up was a quilt not clothing. I used synthetic batting which was very high loft. Everything that could have gone wrong, did!
I would love to challenge myself with something like a pair of jeans. It seems very intimidating to me.

Thank you so much for the suggestion, I will try binding the piping seam allowance.

I have been sewing a few pairs of sunny day shorts. On one of them I managed to sew the elastic one over the other and close the opening only to realize that the elastic had turned over somewhere (face palm). Out with the seam ripper.

I am still waiting for my mother to return from States to get hold of my Lisette patterns, so those would keep me busy for a while! However I would love to try the gallery top, it looks really comfortable. It’s my favorite from the new releases. I would love to try the skirt as well, I love the style. Maybe blue chambray.
I don’t get knits easily, so the maritime top is out of question currently. Also somehow I look broader in t-shirts.

I third the trench coat for women! Would also like to second the under clothes idea. And more relaxed fit blouses for women.

Thank you for starting this thread. My family is vegetarian. We generally cook a lot of Indian food at home. I have a massive load of those recipes. I made this watermelon salad for dinner yesterday.

Mix together pieces of watermelon, slices of red onion, red and green peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, toasted walnuts, and a handful of mint leaves. Crumble feta cheese. Dressing – extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, pepper, teaspoon of honey.

Thank you both for your replies. I do agree that Oliver+s patterns are great lessons themselves! Pardon me for I did not provide much details in my question earlier. I am a beginner sewist. I would love to gain knowledge on all basic skills like seam finishes, zipper installation, adding lining to dresses etc. Would love to know about adding trims, fitting and making alterations on garments as well.

Just a query to Aussies, what about places that do architectural prints and advertisement hoardings? Would they restrict to A0? That’s how I located almost four to five places that print large scale in my tiny Indian town! Very economical as well, about INR 80 or USD 1.25 for one meter.

Just finished my very first jump rope dress! Can’t wait to (try to) photograph my girl in it! Two year olds are very reluctant models! And while it is still fresh in my memory, I am thinking of making a view B version for my niece.

Thank you everyone! My very generous sister picked up the new Lisette patterns for me at 1.99 each! The sales clerk helped her out.

How did you ladies get this fixed? My sister picked up a Lisette pattern for me in Joann at California at 11.99 yesterday!
