Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoNot for Easter, but I have been planning Beatrix’s outfit for her 11 month photo.
I have taken a portrait of each of my babies at 11 months of age, wearing a smocked outfit.
Beatrix was lucky enough to receive two smocked dresses from her honorary Nana in Canada and the little white dress will be perfect for the photo.

@lattemama, that sounds amazing. I did some screen printing at school and loved it. I still have my carved lino prints somewhere…. I was heavily influenced by Margaret Preston.

I understand where you are coming from MC. My husband has offered me his office and he will move to the children’s office/my sewing room but then I will be shut away and probably get less chance to sew.
I actually sewed today, so excited about that. It is two weeks since I had my surgery but it knocked me for six.

I have a jacket just like that one that I bought in my early 20’s. It doesn’t fit anymore but I refuse to let go of it. As I remember it wasn’t cheap! Maybe now I could make a new one.

The duo were doing a sort of “Thelma and Louise” tour across North America in Gail’s suburban. Lucky me, they chose to put Toronto on their route.

I made Beartix a Hopscotch/Tea Party bloomers skirt. As I have stated previously, pattern making is not my thing, but the result is a very handy piece of clothing.
