Many decades ago, my school performed Noah’s Flood (B Brittain). With so many different animals, costumes were a problem. Solved by masks that were worn sort’ve on top of our heads (paper mache), and bodies in simple A-line tunics over leotards with long sleeves, and legs. Sounds lovely. Do you have the Music Box pinafore pattern? or the 2+2 skirt pattern? That could help with good width of pleats for child – after that, it’s maths.
Hope that doesn’t sound too brutal. I made a lot of pleated skirts on a yoke during the 80’s and 90’s, and it takes a bit of work but it does work with patience, and big pieces of paper.

Goodness, I didn’t realise that was going to happen. Still, I suppose it saves time following a link – which is what I was trying to provide to my photostream.

Cross-stitch, and quilting are my alternative activities to sewing for children. Above is my clumsy attempt to ‘show off’ ‘B is for Banksia’, completed for some dear friends with the surname ‘Brown’, in time for Christmas. I hope you can see the picture.

Kmac, the Music Box pinafore is a lovely pattern – and View A – pleats all around – could look very dressy in the right fabric. It’s longer than some of the other dress patterns, and could be worn over either a long or short sleeve blouse or top depending on the weather. Or you could add flutter sleeves to the shoulder line. Good luck with the project.

Yes, I’ve reserved the smaller sized Art Museum from same site. ” my” little boys are finally getting big enough for proper trousers, and at least one likes wearing vests. I’ve never made the dress, but have made the playsuit several times. Tough decision, J. I’d echo all of the above re. the relationship issues- both positive and negative, and about whether it’s important to you. On the seriously plus side, as your daughter is small and slim, it will take much less fabric, and Vogue patterns are very stylish (in my opinion, especially for simple, A line frocks).
