I drove to town all by my lonesome last night after dinner and took a stroll in the cemetery to look at the All Hallows Day lights. Since we’ve done our daylight saving it gets dark around 5:30 pm and I was there around that time. The entire cemetery was filled with little twinkling lights and in one area there were what could only be described as…[Read more]

Shelley, I was so impressed with that hat! I’m glad it turned out so well after all the work you put into it.

Vothgirl I’m sure you’ll love the pattern and your husband will love his coat.
Nicole, I’ll play along and blow my own horn (although I think you saw the Flickr pics). I made a straw hat! Surprised myself too

Thanks for the heads up on the Jupland! I’ve been wanting a cargo pattern for a boy who has outgrown Oliver and S. These look fantastic!

Have you seen Thread Theories new pant pattern. They have side pockets and look like a grown up version of the field trip cargo pants.

Excellent, thank you all, very beautiful dress! My daughter just showed me a photo on her phone of what she likes it has a see through fabric at the top and over the shoulders, but I could piece that in.

I did pretty much just what Meleliza describes for two weddings, but with a different bodice, and put in an invisible zip in the back.

Kmac, the Music Box pinafore is a lovely pattern – and View A – pleats all around – could look very dressy in the right fabric. It’s longer than some of the other dress patterns, and could be worn over either a long or short sleeve blouse or top depending on the weather. Or you could add flutter sleeves to the shoulder line. Good luck with the project.

Yes, I’ve reserved the smaller sized Art Museum from same site. ” my” little boys are finally getting big enough for proper trousers, and at least one likes wearing vests. Looking forward to buying the Lunchbox culottes, too. I have a watching brief for O+S patterns on ebay but it keeps alerting me to stuffed scarecrows, and vintage patterns, as…[Read more]

Oh, those are wonderful — a bit of neutral really makes the bright colors pop, doesn’t it? Some folks are so great at mixing up patterns (like Nele), but when I get inspired and try it myself I think each pattern gets a bit lost in the others. Neutral + accent is so versatile, it’s great for dipping your toe in the world of strong, vivid colors…[Read more]
