So I showed Ms. Sassy Pants the Afterschool pants I am working on. The fabric is a charcoal grey babywale embroidered with purple Cinderella style pumpkin carriages. I am top stitching the side panel with a “star” or “snowflake” stitch for fun. I show her the progress, and what does she say,

I’m having a whirlwind romance with chambray right now…I have 4 different colors/brands in my stash/scrap basket right now. Currently, sewing up some field trip cargo pants in RK interweave chambray in ‘boysenberry’. Absolutely gorgeous color and material, so easy to work with. I want to share this cute story. My daughter ( in pre-k) was asking my mother how to spell “egg”.

Gigi: how do you spell egg?
GM: E. G. G.
Gigi: not my name, Bama, egg?
GM: I know. E. G. G.
Gigi sighs and in a frustrated voice says: Bama, not. My. Name.

GM: let me see how you spelled it?

Gigi: egigi, just like you said. E. G. G.
