Happy birthday to Tilly.
I was sewing Playdate yesterday too, but mine was a more mundane production line of five pair of leggings.
Heidi I love the sound of a zip up Hide and Seek hoodie dress. Awesome! I’d pass on the cheetah print and ears myself but then I’m not eight! It’s a fabulous idea though and i look forward to seeing it. -

Happy Birthday to Tildy!
I’ve traced and cut the pattern for a size 8 hide and seek dress. I’m planning on adding the hood from the school days Coat and a zipper in the front yoke for ease of dressing. I’m also going to add ears to the hood as the fabric is a pinwale courduroy with a small cheetah print for a girl who loves big cats 🙂 -

Perhaps you need an awesome trench coat in a fresh spring-like colour and put any old thing underneath cause you won’t be taking it off. With a fullish skirt (like the Secret Agent view B) a trench is sort of a dress anyway.

I would say that laptops and wine don’t mix but I’d be pointing back at myself, as they say. Fingers crossed for the tech guru!
It’s been a madhouse around here. Computer stuff here too, plus relatives traveling, birthdays coming up, kids with their social schedules. I liked having a dumbphone for a long time but now I’m really glad for having a…[Read more]

It is indeed a front loader. I love the approach of saying what you see, it’s completely beguiling. Well, it is until she says something really embarrassing in public, then I won’t like it quite so much!
I am thinking that next time she asks ‘Me watch Peppa Pig on the television?’ I might wilfully mishear it as ‘Me wash Peppa Pig in the…[Read more]

Isn’t it amazing when they are too young to have their language in a box and they circumlocute. Think about it… washyvision is PERFECT for what she sees!
It reminds me of a conversation I just had with Gigi.
We were discussing her hair cut and she wanted a pixie. She’s 5 and had 3 hair cuts and not because she has flowing locks but rather…[Read more]

Last night my nearly 2.5yo shadow was ‘helping’ with some chores. She got very animated, asking ‘Me put the sugar in the washyvision Mummy?’. It took her running away and returning with her beloved Frozen pants to understand that she wanted to put the powder in the washing machine to wash them. I love washyvision.

I’m so with you on that one @meleliza! I keep a few baskets with the larger pieces and they’ve become all sort of fun projects and trims on other projects. I’ll often cut and prepare bias trim with the scraps so it’s ready when I need it. Remaining scraps go to a painter friend who uses them to wipe his brushes or to local schools for art classes.…[Read more]
