I have been sewing for 58 years, but I certainly don’t feel as old as that would suggest. I am now finally admitting that I collect fabric — that is to say, a lot of it will never get sewn. Sewing helps me with weight control because I want things to still fit as time passes, and I don’t want to have to alter patterns more than once. Sewing is one of the few areas of my life when I can exhibit a lot of patience. I am never bored.
