Finally I sewed along! Love the skirt, the pleats are so simple but really classy. E started potty training last week so this is perfect for her to get on and off. Sewn in spotty fabric to match her chicken pox 😉

This is my very first Oliver and S make, I’m really pleased with it and so is daughter number 3. Thank you for your lovely pattern and great sew along.

You could try two rows. I have just attached the collar to mine (6-12 months) and it took a little bit of careful manipulation. Hand basting is very beneficial to tame it in. I’m using interlock and it can be temperamental.
And I too stuffed the first front with the placket! Did it the wrong way around!

So I see that others are haveing that same issue that I’ve had with the polo collar. First of all, I ADORE this pattern-I’m into it for 4 and love it so, SO much. However, I know that I am not doing this incorrectly and finally decided to do the math. I hope you can all follow along. Boy style, I cut the placket 1/4″ off the center fold. This…[Read more]

I definitely had one folded back and the other out. The fabric was a pique knit. I have too much neckline and not enough collar. And now that I’ve worked it over a bit, I am certain I exacerbated the problem, even though I tried to handle it delicately. 😉
I may try the box pleat. It is a girl’s shirt after all. Either that or the 12…[Read more]

Heidi I think that would make the problem worse in this case, sounds like too little collar rather than too little neckline. I made the 5 in two very different fabrics (a stable interlock and a soft, floppy wool knit) and the firmer fabric was fine, the softer one had a ton of excess neckline. I put in a big box pleat at the back neck. It’s really…[Read more]
