Sewing since 9-10, used to handsew dolls clothes & have used my skill for fun & income over the years,,, pushing 54…
a few years ago i worked for a highend bag co,,, & learned to 2 needle hand stitch leather wallets my ither yask there was machine sewing canvas bags… A main stay over the years has been horse rug repairs for friends & a few $$$ here & there… Recently i worked as a superviser on a work program offering some basic sewing skills to woman who need to find employment. This experience really helped me realise i know more than i thought & now i am gaining new skills myself by pushing myself to make up school uniforms for another company… I would not call myself a seamstress in the formal genre but i have to say the skills i am gaining are invaluable.
i like to sew for myself & i am currently working on designs & ideas to form my own small business so the above mentioned situation is certainly helping in fleshing out my skills, inspiration, confidence & stamina.
