Sarvi replied to the topic Printing Digital Patterns in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 10 years ago
I’ve found it to be really inexpensive and convenient. I print at my local shop that does blueprints. I think I’ve told this story before but at Staples I have either no problems or lots of problems, depending on which clerk is there that day. Luck of the draw. At blueprint shop they know what they’re doing, I email the file and by the time I get…[Read more]

I have made this pattern twice – no problem after washing. Unfortunately, both of my neck closures shredded at the bottom after washing. Most likely I clipped too close in my effort to get it to turn nicely. But, the gathers look just fine.

Sharon! You’re back! Its so wonderful to “see” you on the forum again. That fabric is stunning isn’t it?
My first thought is carousel. I also think it would be lovely as a Badminton dress – not for your cooler weather i know but it came to mind. You could also go for the library dress and use the lace in the waist band somehow. The book report…[Read more] -

That’s really interesting about the faux french seams, thank you. It could also come in useful when I accidentally start the french seam the wrong way out…
I love that fabric. I would opt for something more structured and less gathered to make the most out of the pattern, i.e. carousel or school photo but both of those would present some…[Read more]

Yes that is true, however, I went ahead and attached the already cut long sleeves so I will just have to make another with short sleeves for this really wierd 27 degree days we are experiencing (in June?!). I have some blue and white floral lawn from Spotlight I have earmarked for another music class but am now thinking Puppet show dress for it…[Read more]

I can hear your frustration and I am very sorry for it.
I made a smaller size here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/after-school-frolics-part-two.html
This size seemed to be fine. This is a curved seam which will need easing.
Please don’t lose heart. 🙂

Accurate seam allowance is very important. Even though it is only 1/4″, that is 1/4″per seam and adds up quickly. Hope you give it another shot, it is a really great pattern.

Hi Sonja, I think you may have answered your own question.
As there are many seams that make the ‘body’ of the trousers, if you make all your seam allowances a bit narrow, the yoke will be too small.
I think I did the same with my first pair.An easy fix, if this happens again and you have topstitched your seams, is to add a bit of easing through…[Read more]

What size are you making? Can you put up a picture? I have made this a few times in different sizes and never had a problem.

Last night I finished the 2+2 top. Today I hope to keep going on the music class shirt but am comsidering changing the sleeve to short ones considering our very out of character spring like weather when it is supposed to be cold and raining!
