Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoI’d been thinking that I’d love the little girls to have smocked dresses for Easter. Not sure if they will ‘approve’ or not. They seem to have grown up on me overnight!
I want to say that BK’s baptism gown was made using the Twinkle Toes pattern…I’ll have to double check next time I’m at my mom’s.;)

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoOh my….that’s lovely {had to look it up online}!! I can completely see why you’ve been itching to make the Mignonette. We hope to make our youngest niece a dress from AS&E for Easter as well. It is Twinkle Toes from AS&E issue 58. Time will tell if we get it done :).

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoI have this little dress I have been itching to make from Australian Smocking and Embroidery (issue number will come to mind shortly I hope) called Mignonette. It involves smocking, insertion lace and embroidery down the centre of a t shaped panel. Whether I will get to it for Easter or not is one thing as it falls early this year. But the aim is…[Read more]

Fiber Club! 10 years agoDon’t be ashamed! That show has some really good writing. It never really ‘grabbed’ me but I could appreciate the workmanship that went into. I like pretty much everything on your list, so I’ll have to check out the few I don’t watch already. Have you seen Top of the Lake? I don’t think I could knit through it, it’s too wrenching, but if you can…[Read more]

Fiber Club! 10 years agoOh a real mixture! Series like Homeland, Broadchurch, Great British Bake Off, old films that no one else in my house wants to watch(!). Also if watching with my husband, things like Mad Men, which we love. Those clothes!!! I love Peggy and Joan is so curvaceous I can’t take my eyes off her! If I’m knitting something complex, I watch lighthearted…[Read more]

Fiber Club! 10 years agoI found this interesting thread:
after searching for good movies or shows to watch while knitting. My Netflix queue is split into more serious films to which I’d like to give my full attention, and stuff I think might be good for my daughter but that won’t be in the…[Read more]

Well, that’s terrific news :)….if we get in a bind, maybe would could just “rent” it from you for an Easter wearing!! Maybe the girls will let you have another year of smocked attire. Whatever you decide, we’ll be anxious to see the completed garments!!
