    I compared the sleeves and back/front armholes and the Gallery sleeve has a more broad sleeve cap and a few small differences. I just went ahead and traced the armholes onto the Cinema pattern….we’ll see how it goes…

    Hey! Can anyone tell me the coupon code that is available right now for the o+s best of 2014? I got the email but now it’s saying “message has no content”. Blerg! Thanks for any help!! I saw the new Bento tee tutorial on the blog today and was reminded that I need to snap that pattern up!

    After I’ve printed it out myself or paid to have it printed on big paper I’ve spent more time and money anyways. I LOVE your paper patterns hard! They have spoiled me for other brands. The weight of the tissue. The clever envelopes. The bygone paper dolls. *sigh* I’d happily pay ~$25 after shipping for an adult size paper pattern. It’s just worth it to me. BUT I can appreciate the risk it would be! You’re patterns are great enough to make this PDF averse lady to click “download”. 😉 Just gotta add my input :-}

    I was thinking leave off the “belt” part, just to keep it simple, and make the whole back one color?

    I begrudgingly buy PDF when it’s the only option (L&Co). To have it printed on the 36″ stuff at fed ex kinkos usually costs around $18. That’s an expensive pattern. Taping 8×11’s is the last way I want to spend my sewing time. For some reason, if I have TAPE AND SCISSORS out, my kids just won’t give me a break ;-D O&S paper patterns are truly the nicest paper patterns out there.

    Where?!?!! I’ve been using all of my super stalker skillz and can’t find them!!

    That’s exactly what I was thinking! The mystery now is stretch or woven? Zipper or Liesl signature magic? It’ll be fun to see!! I really do wish some normal and plus size testers had pictures ready for Thursday too. Seeing the Cinema dress on Sarvi was probably more inspiring than the model shots…to me anyways.

    Plaid on the bias for the bodice panel? Or plaid on the bias all the way through? I’m pretty jazzed about either but am a little frozen with indecision cause I looove this fabric so much! I originally thought to use it for a weekend getaway blouse or tunic length top but Cinema is more conducive to belly….lovely dilemma to have really!

    Also, would plaid be too Maria before she became a Von Trapp? “The poor didn’t want those” 😀 😀

    Calling everyone more stylish than myself!! I have some plaid linen that I want to use for the main part if the Cinema Dress. I don’t know if I should use a navy or mushroom for the bodice panels. Here’s a link to a photo that shows bits of all three fabrics.

    I’ve used a knit linen that was similar to the one linked at b&j and it’s scrumptious. I used it for underwear and I should have made them about half the size that I did cause they streeeeeeeeeeetched out. I don’t know the rhyme or reason to sewing with linen knits other than that one experience.

    On another note b&j has liberty of London French terry! The short sleeve Bento, for even xxl, only takes 1 yd! Wheels are turning…ok more like spinning out!

    Last thought was lowering the neckline a touch and adding a cowl just like this one http://www.carhartt.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10101&storeId=10051&productId=285161&langId=-1 but maybe using that linen knit? You definitely want that fabric wrapped around your neck when you first touch it. Of course you could probably use the other Liesl and Co t shirt pattern but I like the idea of the bento shape and pockets with a cowl. Am I crazy?

    Yeah I really have no idea about the “principles” or rules behind all this.

    I feel like I want more ease in the bicep area so my arms aren’t pinned down or the whole dress doesn’t ride up if I pick a kid up or raise my arms in any way. I’m not entirely sold on if/how a smaller size can give me more range of motion. After my last tweak I’ve had zero time to try anything else.

    I would love to know that science or even math behind all of it. And that, people, is the first time I’ve ever uttered the words math and love in the same sentence!

    Ok! I did Nicole’s little adjustment on just the sleeve going from a 14 at the top of the cap out to a 20. I set it right back into the armhole and it looks and feels **much** better than before. One tiny little tweak was all it took for a good amount of change. I’m astounded! It’s still not quite right. I feel like the whole dress shouldn’t shift quite so much when I move my arms up. I’m wondering how to blend the sizing on the armhole since the Cinema pattern sizes aren’t nested (?). I might just go ahead and start trimming the muslin….

    Ok yes I do see what you did more clearly now. Thank you!!

    So you *have* successfully set a larger sized sleeve into a smaller sized armhole? Is that what you’re saying?
