How fun! Black and white is so sophisticated! I like the idea of a black and white color blocked school photo dress with the scallops on the top. I believe there was a blog post about it once. It was so cute.

That is beautiful fabric! I think I would try the roller skate dress without the elastic casing. It has a lovely little cap sleeve. I wouldn’t want to cut the pattern too much, or break it up with seaming.

Well, I think it is perfectly reasonable to suggest a spring dress in May, since it it spring in CA in May, and it is CA.
And since the wedding is indoors, it is unlikely to be cold, so a wool sweater, tights, and boots are likely unnecessary.

I live in northern CA! And yeah, it probably will be a bit chilly near the Pacific in the evening, it always is.
Bistro dress came to mind first. But maybe the new Lisette pants pattern in linen, and a floral, or brightly colored fabric for the blouse would be more comfortable, and some pretty sandals. Or maybe some linen girl Friday culottes…[Read more]
