i began sewing seriously when my dad bought me a Necchi with embroidery cams for my 14th birthday.  no one else in my family sewed but i never looked back.   i studied pattern making and design at pratt institute and did private work out of a home studio.  i created and made my own and my daughter’s clothing until she left for her real life.  i continued to sew my own and my mens’ clothes.  i can actually stop now because i’ll never wear out what i have.  but i won’t.

i sew on a Viking #1 and a Janome 8000 Memory Craft, both bought new about 18 years ago when the Necchi did a final death dance .  i love the Janome.  i’ve since added a used Imagine serger to the mix and i think i’m done for now.

when i’m not sewing i’m reading, cooking or traveling.  wherever i am, i’m checking out the local fabric stores.
