Who doesn’t love dressing a doll? That’s how I started anyway, making little outfits for my Barbies. Later, much later, I was lucky enough to have three lovely daughters to dress (the son was considerably less compliant in the dressing-up department). Now those children are grown and, although I’m wallowing in the selfish pleasures of sewing for myself, I can’t deny my love for fabrics and colours more suitable for children than adults. And so, when there is time I sew for charity, for friends, for family, just for the joy of it.
