Sandra, for 2 of the dresses why I didn’t do box pleats in the back (and did gathering instead) was either I was copying a dress or I just liked the look of it. Linda, what size and length of circular needles do you recommend to use with a sock weight yarn. The DNP’s are driving me crazy! I’ve got an easy pattern, it’s just the needles that are problematic.

Oh, and as for where, I would do it so that the seam aligns with the notches where the side panels meet the back panel. Hope that helps.

Yep that’s what you’d need to do. Don’t forget to add seam allowance where you split the back panel and the front flap.
