I have some lovely raspberry coloured voile that I want to make my 2yo some puppet show shorts with.

The only problem is that it’s a bit sheer, and with her penchant for bright, patterned knickers, they’ll show through!

So I was wondering if I could make the main part of the shorts with a double layer of voile, simply treating the two pieces as one (I would keep the binding, pockets etc to one layer). Would this work, or am I crazy?

Absolutely would work , but if your fabric is very delicate consider using something else for the leg binding. ( and perhaps a soft sheerweft interfacing in the waistband ).
