I am ready to sew the shantung silk lining and the tulle. I noticed that when the tulle gets near the shantung silk it snags it. Is there an alternative? I have some leftover organza from the sash and the ruffle. It is a synthetic but I’m not sure if that will work?

I think the organza will give it some very nice shape. It will be a little poofier than the tulle, but you could also use less width if you don’t want too much poof.

What about adding a layer of poplin or alike between the tulle and the silk? This way you could keep both the tulle and the silk and it wouldn’t change the dress as much as swapping out the tulle.

I think organza would work or an extra lining, something thin.
