    Linda, I suspect you have had the same issue I have had. If you purchased pattern ‘on sale’, the regular price is showing up on the invoice, on the outside of the envelope, and that’s what the customs officers are basing the charges on, not on the sale price. This is why I abandoned my purchase with the last sale. If I understand the breakdown, it’s no long duty we are paying, it’s taxes, only, and the taxes are paid on the purchase price. In Canada, we don’t have to pay taxes on the shipping cost, or on ‘regular price’ if you are purchasing on sale. It’s up to the seller to put the correct purchase price on the outside of the package, for the custom officers to read.
