If I might jump back on topic, I have the same problem with my daughter. I have taken material out under the front waistband. It is hard to know how much and I usually err on the side of caution. It does seem to help.

Maggie, that is a good idea for most pants.. I will try it. But I’m not sure how I would go about doing this with the sailboat with no waistband… and the back on these are low enough as they are. Maybe if I lowered the buttons and trimmed some off the top? I think it would change the shape of the nice sailboat flap.

I did try the suggestion of taking some out of the upper leg seam last night. But I think the problem is actually in the crotch seam. it bags there…. I may try them again, and scoop quite a bit out of that seam. I think it will get me closer. I will try to post a photo on flickr today.

I have made P 2 or 3 pair of these trying to get the right fit. They are such a cute pair of pants but I have the baggie crotch problem too. If you figure out a solution I’d be glad to hear about it.
