I’m going to make 8 bias trimmed aprons for costumes for a play my daughter is in with the local theatre company (Anne of Green Gables, the orphans all need matching aprons). To speed up production, I was wondering if it’s possible to eliminate the back seam and the velcro closure. Can it fit over a child’s head without the opening at the back?

I made it where eliminated the back opening and added side ties. I used 2 front and scooped out the neckline to ensure it fitted over the head easily. Here’s a link to my apron

And here you can see it opened out flat

I used snaps on the side pieces, however if your doing a large number you might want to use ties, fabric or ribbon, so they are more adjustable.
