So, I read Liesl’s blog post about lengthening and shortening. It’s easy enough for shirts. But tonight I was tracing the After-School Pants pattern for my tall, skinny 2.5-year-old. Her waist measures a 6-12 month (!) and her height is 3T. I couldn’t bring myself to trace a 6-12 waist, so I did the 18-24 month size. She wears cloth diapers so I think we’ll be alright. Anyway, the blog post shows the optimum place in the leg to lengthen pants. But what about the rise? Since we have cloth diapers to deal with, I graded the 18-24 month rise out to a 3T. Width is the same, length is longer. Is that advisable? I haven’t cut my fabric yet; will do that tomorrow.

I haven’t made this pattern yet but this gal had the simular sizing as you with her litttle girl. Maybe it will help.
