Playdate would be perfect in flannel. I made it out of some red pinwale cord. Just make sure to wash the flannel very well before hand. I’ve had flannels that bleed for multiple washes, and I’m imagining this nightgown with a red bodice and a white yoke, and I’d hate for the yoke to turn pink!

I usually add length at the halfway point between the underarm and the hem. But to draw a line between the two, with this much distance for a nightgown, I’m not sure whether to flair it out or not. Can I just add length at the bottom of the hem and not flair it?

What pattern are you using? Playdate? how much length do you want to add? I have added length to the bottom of the teaparty and exaggerated the flare, but I liked the look, so it depends on the look your after.
