The coat was wonderful to sew! I can’t wait to make another one, this time it will be with laminated fabric. I have started the sew-a-long, btw.

I’m ready to start . . . and have already started researching laminate (RUBBISH in the UK). The walking foot is very different to my normal swap ’em over feet. Can I just attach it and then keep it on for entire project?

    Thanks gurus!

Unsure about whether you can use walking foot for whole project Robyn – I’ve never used one – BUT I do actually sew oilcloth/laminated fabric a fair bit (I make little purses with them) – I just use my regular foot with a ball point needle & I’ve never had a problem.

I think you’d need laminated cotton for this as opposed to oilcloth – Cath Kidson has a beautiful range – have you tried her website? (It’s expensive though + by the time I factor in postage to Oz it’s completely impractical! but UK postage is fine/maybe even free?) – otherwise Anna Marie Horner and Amy Butler both have a pretty good range.

Having said all this – my machine WILL NOT sew pvc!!
