Hi to all of you who have completed the fabulous little bear carrier. I’m just finishing my first one (have 3 more to make for friends!) but had a little trouble with sewing up the opening curve, after I’ve turned the carrier to the right way. Should I have clipped the curves slightly before trying to turn the edges under along my basting line? It’s hard to describe how mine turned out, it seemed very tight to turn the edges under and pin together. Not sure if I did something wrong. Any tips for this part would be well received! I haven’t quite finished the carrier, need to go and purchase some buttons tomorrow and some new velcro. Here in NZ I’ve only seen velcro in black and white – do you get other colours elsewhere?

It will be easier I you sew a basting stitch along the seam allowance and the clip the seam allowance almost to the basting stitches before turning then to the inside.
I’m sure I’ve seen other colour velcro at Spotlight in Aus, but off white or black is most common.
Have fun with it, it’s a gorgeous pattern.
