elastic for waist in shorts how much fully extended elastic required for sze 2

    can anyone tell me how much elastic you would use in a size 2 please? the pattern says 21″ waist, but I dont have a little one that I can trial pulling the elastic around their waist, can anyone help please?

    My skinny 6 year old has an 18” waist , and that is approx 16 1/2 ” of standard elastic. A baby may be chubbier?

    Yes I am doing the 2 year old size, and seeing as I am a grandmother now, I don’t have any babies to check it on, and this is going to be a gift for someone

    I haven’t made this pattern, but for other elastic waist pants for my 2 year old I use 20′ of elastic.

    i went to our local kids store and measured it came out to 18.5″
