I want to make a secret Agent trench coat for a birthday gift. Spotlight has corduroy on sale at the moment and I was thinking about using it for the coat. Has anyone made one from cord? Will it have enough body?

I made one from (gorgeous) velveteen last year, but alas, it was way too soft – so I’d be a bit dubious about trying it in cord….

Thanks for the feedback. Did you make it from pinwale or regular cord, Tamara? Yay, all cord’s on special at Spotlight!

I used pinwale from Spotlight Heidi. It will turn out about the same weight as if using drill so not a winter coat for warmth but it will still look great.

I’m thinking of doing the Girl version in corduroy. I have some fushia with multi size welt variations I got from Fabric Mart Fabrics.
