Hope the link works!
14 years ago LINKApril Henry @April1930sOH those are so darling and amazingly detailed! Love the Santa & Mrs. Claus!
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayThanks April – my mum is very clever!!! (I cannot embroider – or hand sew – at all!)
14 years ago LINKfreyiris @freyirisI’ve made the ruffle halter top for my twins in Japanese double gauze gingham – one red one green, with cream linen puppet show shorts. I thought about making skirts but given some of Christmas day will no doubt be spent in the treehouse at the grandparents shorts were a more practical option. Hopefully I’ll get some pics on flickr but having problems with my account – my reminder question is now in Chinese!
I’m also hoping to squeeze some storytime pjs in this week for Christmas morning.
Like some others I’ve also been making dolls from Hillary Lang’s gorgeous Wee Wonderfuls book. The margot topsy turvey doll x 2 in memory of one my mum made me when I was a little girl. Whilst checking out the Wee Wonderfuls flickr pool this morning I spied this from a certain someone:
Isn’t it gorgeous. And aren’t the sequins are inspired. And isn’t the background from Modern Workshop a perfect match. And … I could go on and on!
14 years ago LINKJustine J @justmejayOh, that is seriously gorgeous!!! I don’t know this book, Sharon – off the Book Depository to take a look!
I can’t wait to see your halter tops – they sound divine!
I (very very) belatedly decided to make each of the kids something for xmas – why I choose to do these thing less than a week before xmas, I don’t know – Will’s shorts done bar hemming, Harry’s awaiting waistband & hems, Rosie’s & Lucy’s cut out but not started!
14 years ago LINKLoralee @LoraleeWee Wonderfuls made it’s way under our tree. 🙂 I was hoping to make ‘something’ for under the tree but the girls will be just as excited for the book! They make a beeline for it every time we visit Sew to Speak, our favorite fabric store.
I see many projects in my future…
14 years ago LINKAnonymous @I haven’t had time to sew all the things I had planned for Christmas this year, BUT I did manage to zip together a simple set of pillowcases for Oliver last night and I’ll make some for Clara on Thursday night. I feel so much better knowing that I got to sew them SOMETHING to put under the tree!
14 years ago LINKcherry @cherryI’m in the depths of Christmas sewing as we speak! I stupidly declared a couple of months back that I would only be giving my kids and nieces and nephews handmade presents (plus some second hand ones thrown in). Then I made a few toys from the Wee Wonderfuls book (Koji, Little Miss Storybook, Wes the Giraffe and Katie Kitty). Then I tried to forget the rest of the things I wanted to make.
Now I’m trying to sew up some clothes to give the kids. Since monday I’ve made a pair of Sailboat pants for Evie, and 2 pairs of Sandbox shorts for Oli. I’m a bit burnt out today after making the Schooldays duffle for Oli (never mind that it is summer here- I had promised him I’d make him one for christmas!).
I still want to make some tops for the kids- some Ottobre tees for Oli and some Hopscotch tops for Evie. I doubt they will get done!!!
I’m so tired!!!!
14 years ago LINKmela @melaCherry, I am so impressed. You are your own Santa workshop! I am SOOOO guilty of planning way more than I can carry out. The PJs I wanted to do will have to wait until after the holidays, and some people who were going to get a handmade gift are instead getting a purchased item. Oh, if only my time management skills were half as good as my ideas! I have to admit, I am so excited to get to after-christmas sewing…whatever I want to work on! Again, so many plans but at least there’s no deadline.
14 years ago LINKcherry @cherryMela- not so much Santa’s workshop as a sweatshop! And you shouldn’t have mentioned how you want to make PJs- they are on my to do list as well, but I had forgotten about them! Thankfully Oli has his bristday in early Jan so anything I start for him that isn’t quite done by Chrissy Day can be gifted on his birthday.
Loralee- You’ll love the Wee Wonderfuls book- it is gorgeous.
14 years ago LINKAnonymous @Oliver got a set of play tools yesterday, so tonight I sewed him a little tool belt/apron. It came out so cute! I can’t wait for him to open it on Christmas morning. Also, whipped up a pair of flannel bed pillow cases with minky trim for Clara. No new O+S outfits, unfortunately, but some nice surprises anyway!
