If I make an Oliver & S item and donate it to a charity for auction, do I need to purchase a boutique sewers license for it? I was not sure if it counts as a gift or a sale.

We only ask that boutique sewers purchase a license if they are making an item to sell for personal profit. We’re happy to have anyone sew items from our patterns and donate them for charitable causes like fundraising auctions.
