any issues with using a wider elastic for hem?

    Hi folks, I only have 3/8″ and wider elastic. What effect would it have? I can guess that it might make the hem heavier, so it would hang differently. Could I compensate by making the elastic shorter (to restore some of the bubbliness)? Just not sure if I have time to add another errand (trip to buy elastic) as I’m trying to finish this dress in time for Chinese New Year. Thanks for any thoughts on the subject! Oh, I’m making a size 2T, if that makes a difference.

    I think the wider elastic will be fine. You shouldn’t need to make any adjustments, really. You can tighten the elastic on this dress a bit for a more pronounced bubble effect, but be careful not to tighten it too much or walking may be challenging–I’d hate for the elastic to restrict movement of the legs.
