Has anyone lengthened a smaller size?

My girl is a leggy one (2T height), but only just getting that baby pooch around the middle. She’s 16M, but per the sizing charts, can still fit very well into the 12-18M range. I’d like to have a good fit all over rather than make the next size up and it swallow her whole.

I do it all the time for S’s clothing–she’s size 3 around the middle and size 5+ for height.

Great! One more question, and I apologize if the answer should be obvious: if lengthening view B of the Ice Cream dress I should splice each of the 3 color blocks?
