Also not a dealbreaker, but when I read from my phone the right margin of the post bleeds off the edge where I can’t see it. I tried to shrink my screen, no luck. It’s just off the edge. I use a Galaxy S5 so the screen is plenty large.

Here’s one for you. We carry our groceries in a bag and carry them into the house from our van. My sister in the North West puts her groceries in a tote and totes them into the house from her rig. I always thought that was funny. She drinks pop and we drink soda. We are in Texas and She is in Alaska.

@vothgirl That’s very sweet! I think our daughters are probably a similar age. I can hear my two year old ‘reading’ stories to her cot toys before she naps. ‘Babbit dis is Peppa Pig’ etc.
I love the unmoderated comments of small children. Lady E is currently obsessed by noise ‘Noise, noise, wat dat mummy? Car noise mummy, bang and pop mummy’…[Read more]

This is not something wrong, but just how something works — might be useful to others. I had a list of notifications, a mixed bag of replies to threads I’d posted in and friendship requests. I clicked ‘read’ on the friendship requests in order to read them — but that marks them as already-read. I wasn’t quite sure how to find them again to…[Read more]

I inherited Robin’s, yes! And immediately switched over to her method. She keeps the tracings in one of those large paper envelopes that will hold 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper unfolded. One envelope per tracing size, with her notes on each envelope about whether she adds length, any errata. It’s a great system and I don’t execute it as well as she…[Read more]

I tried to adopt ‘pop’ because I thought it sounded sort of cool and James Dean-ish, like somebody from an S.E. Hinton novel (or more specifically, from one of the Coppola films) but I couldn’t get it to stick. It’s really interesting to see how my kid’s idiolect is developing. She’s familiar with so many phrases and characters from shows she’s…[Read more]

Jinx is a big thing in this house, and there is “jinx again, double-jinx, no givebacks.”
I laughed when Anna and Hans did it in Love Is an Open Door.
Snap is for card games, I thought?
I grew up (in the Philippines) with them being called soft drinks, but refer to them now as soda (NY). I had a chef who called it bubble juice (in reference to the…[Read more] -

i have multiple tracings of some patterns because of sizes for two kids; I mostly have PDF printouts but some larger patterns that I am loathe to fold too small. I really like the portfolio sleeves that are 17×14, but they can get pricey so i have a few patterns in each one. I also like the zipper bags that are 13×15, but those are kind of floppy.…[Read more]
