Oliver + S

  • My mom and I never matched, so I guess I’m not scarred. Though it would still scar me if I thought I was dressing like her. Shudder. And I didn’t have siblings to match with.

It will be funny, I think, but I also think it will make for a good future date night dress.

I just discovered Oliver and S. Wow I’ve been missing out for so long!!! I have to say I’ve been addicted to making t- shirts since I bought the School Bus T-shirt pattern last week. I’m now stepping it up and trying to use the color blocking tutorial on another this weekend. So far I have my fabrics laid out. Here is one I just finished. My…[Read more]

  • @Nicole your method makes a lot of sense.

Thanks everyone I have some options to look into. And I’ve also found some thicker knits that might be more winter appropriate as well.

  • “I am the mother of the flower girl!” Hahaha, that is awesome, and should totally be a thing!

I confess, I would not feel comfortable with that level of matchy with my daughter, but to each their own! I am still scarred by my childhood in the 1980s. Nuff said.

  • Polartec Power Stretch fabric is awesome! That’s what all my winter running clothes are made from.;)

  • I’ve finished the garden party top. It was a lovley sew, I very much enjoyed just following the instructions and making no changes this time 🙂
I think I’ll spend some time Doing buttons and buttonholes today. I don’t normally leave them but I have a Seashore sundress and an Art Museum Vest that both need them.

I saw footage last night on the news. Having a huge dumping of snow would be like having floods here – complete disaster!

I pray for the families of those that have lost their lives. It would be very tragic to lose someone just because of a huge downfall of snow.

But it is wonderful to see such community spirit with the help each other is…[Read more]

  • Hilarious! Meleliza I don’t think it is too corny because you are using elements that are the same not dressing exactly alike, right?

I think it will be a very sweet tribute to the day and event.

It is indeed very cute Becky. I have made one in a knit and one in a woven and the knit is worn ten times more often. In fact I haven’t seen the woven one since I made it! I think I will dig it out of her wardrobe to recycle because the fabric is so nice.

I was pretty much knackered yesterday so did alot of sitting. During that time I actually…[Read more]

  • If it’s an issue with a place not being able to print just one page of a PDF, you can always split the file and send just the page(s) that are the large format sheets.

I do this with the full version of Adobe Acrobat. It has the option of deleting pages in a PDF. Save the file under a new name and delete all pages but the last.

Just made a Playtime Dress in a calico, size 12-18m. I think it would have been better in a knit — for easier dressing and undressing. It’s very cute, though, and I do like the mock collar stitching.
