Dawn R started the topic What size Kam snaps shoud I use? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 10 years ago
I just was gifted a Kam Snap press. I will be using them on the shirts and playsuits from the Layette pattern. I have heard that the size 20s are the best overall size but will they work well on the smaller clothing?

Ooh I know what you mean! I’m a grown woman and I love some of the gorgeous children’s prints. I loved the one with the giraffes on as well. (Sorry can’t do links).

What about a full tiered skirt to go with the chambray shirt? I make these all the time, in fact wore a floor length one to a wedding today. I usually make them out of all one fabric. Here’s a tutorial for ones made from multiple fabrics, but it will give you the idea.…[Read more]

I’m putting my hand up for future testing from emailed 36″ files, now that I know my local print shop has a roll!

You are lucky! It is a beautiful range but then I don’t think I have ever not liked what Liberty release. Its just so jolly expensive! So I would hve to use it soaringly and carefully. This would be a wonderful print to have.

This year I am planning to sew a few things for my two year old daughter. It’s that cute age when everything she wears looks sweet! I also plan to sew something for myself for the very first time, would love to try the cinema dress. Have already sewn a baby quilt for a dear friend’s newborn. Apart from that I am delving into soap making this year.…[Read more]

My husband kindly gifted me some fabric from this line, out arrived yesterday. It will be kiddy wear and some for quilting. Totally banking on my siblings having kids to hand some of my makes on to!

Ok, I’ll help you justify using it for yourself…would be a shame to use that fabric on something that will be outgrown. You’ll get longer wear out of it 😉

@georgeandizzy that’s adorable! I love it – would also be cute using a lengthened LTTS tutu for the skirt part.
@onehappymamma, another suggestion (for a pattern I don’t own, haha) would be a jumprope dress with a circle skirt modification – I feel like I’ve seen several floating around Flickr, and it would be adorable in denim & cotton lace, or…[Read more]

Have you seen this new Liberty of London, Alice in Wonderland fabric yet? Might skip right over my daughter and sew a blouse for myself out of it.

Liesel, perhaps some blog posts on fitting tween/early teens? With your patterns going up to 12, many girls’ bodies start changing before they outgrow the patterns.

You’re welcome! I am totally considering running it by my 9 yo, she already has a nice chambray shirt, maybe not in gingham though, being it would be for every day wear… So, thank you for posing the question! 🙂
