I just printed this out and am pieceing it together. I’m having trouble getting parts 4 (waistband) to line up with each other. I checked that my scaling is correct. Help!

Oh, and yes, I check the Flickr stats cause I find it curious to see what appeals in an image. I’m also amused by the Flickr cognoscenti who feverishly collect images from Explore and “favourite” images with abandon. Sometimes I think it’s just cause I have the same brand of camera….
One guy has followed me multiple times. I guess that means he…[Read more] -

I have a few photos in the 4,000+ views because the image ended up on Flickr Explore. I suppose that’s down to the appeal of the image not the garment.
My most viewed photo, which like yours Sarvi gets a half dozen looks every day, is currently at 6,058 views. It is a Sailboat top modified into a belted dress. That’s definitely come about due to…[Read more] -

Definitely an interesting topic – my most viewed with over 3000 views was a backpack I made from LTTS (which my dog has since eaten…) My second most viewed was a random Ice Cream top – over 2000 views – but certainly nothing special. Kind of weird.

This is such an interesting thread, I don’t know what makes items popular. I click if the garment catches my eye or is a particularly good photo.
My most viewed was a set of pirate themed Roller Skate dresses (919) I made for a friend’s Disney Cruise, most favorited was a Field Trip set and hoodie (20) I made for a friend’s kid.

You’ll love sewing and wearing the Everyday Skirt! I’ve sewn 3 now (2 for myself and one for my sister). It’s easy but looks very pulled together.
I may have also taken advantage of the “yay we won!” sale and picked up 1 or 3 Liesl + Co patterns I didn’t have yet…

OMG Liesl – I was in Nordstrom today and saw a women’s blazer that I really liked and was looking all over the construction to see if I could possibly hack something together – I was considering taking photos of it but thought that would be kinda weird. ..I am so excited! Oh yes, and thanks!!!

The Everyday Skirt is such a great pattern! I have two and wear them often.

I’ve been toying with trying the Everyday Skirt–I rarely sew for myself, usually crafts or for the kids. But the “Yay, we won” sale had me going ahead and buying it, and now I get to sew something for myself.
And I admit I also bought the Bedtime Story pjs. I’d given up on finding paper copies (which I much prefer), so the digital on sale will…[Read more]

miss_sonja replied to the topic Fleece Nature Walk pullover–still use interfacing? in the forum oliver + s: nature walk 10 years ago
Thanks for the replies. I don’t have any knit interfacing, so unless I find some in the next week or so, I’ll give it a try without. I’m toying with the idea of colour blocking it with fleece and quilting cotton. Could be cute!

I don’t know if this is the right place to put this, but I thought of it after I filled out my survey a month or so ago. 🙂 I was thinking that it would be very helpful to know what size clothing the model on the cover of the patterns is wearing and what his/her rough measurements are. I think this would help us to have a better understanding of…[Read more]

Thanks for the tip @vothgirl, that’s very interesting! I’m so bad at technology :).
My most viewed item is a dress made from the Cottage Home tutorial in 2011. I used Anna Maria Horner voile and was terrified that I would ruin such expensive fabric. But both my girls adored that dress and wore it until it was indecently short.

I’m not sure Sarvi, as I’ve put quite a few things into Project Run and Play and the others don’t seem to be nearly as high. I’m not particulary concerned, just curios 🙂

Oh, great tip, @vothgirl ! I bet you will see an interesting uptick in views after appearing on the blog. I’ll be curious to know what the difference is.
@with-love-heidi I wonder whether the Project Run & Play entry had something to do with it?
@justmejay I know the hunstman spider pic you mention, I can see why it has so many views!

I crochet some. Although I haven’t much the last couple of years. My gauge is always off (really big.) I made my daughter a sweater vest that I could fit into. It discouraged me. Now, I stick to baby blankets.
Lately I have been trying to learn to embroider. I am a little frustrated right now. I just read somewhere online that I am not…[Read more]

If it is a stretch fabric and she doesn’t mind a bit of tugging I think it would be do-able.
I would sew it, with out the facings, safely pin the shoulders closed and try it on. If it works, snip off the excess strap, if it doesn’t, finish it with the buttons and button holes.
I have a tute here if you would like a peep at the construction.

Oh Brittney, sounds like the preteen thing has struck at your house. My daughter was just like that starting from about 9 and my son is starting to become rather opinionated about what he wears – he feels like he is in prison with certain stripe combinations!
I think its a good thing to include them in the planning process. More of a chance they…[Read more]
