Fiber Club! 10 years agoDon’t be ashamed! That show has some really good writing. It never really ‘grabbed’ me but I could appreciate the workmanship that went into. I like pretty much everything on your list, so I’ll have to check out the few I don’t watch already. Have you seen Top of the Lake? I don’t think I could knit through it, it’s too wrenching, but if you can…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoA bean soup with with wilted kale/spinach stirred in at the end should hit the spot — I don’t like chard but love kale, but you could use whichever green your daughter likes best:

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoMy favourite was to cook a steak to medium rare and whist it was resting, make a green salad with baby spinach and sliced mushrooms and then slice the steak in strips and stir through the salad dressing with a mango puree (sometimes a little sweet chilli).
Lucky girl to have a doting mum.

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoLinda, another little one for you to sew for! In both my pregnancies I had low iron during and after birth. I loved sweet potato mashed with ginger and then fried up with steamed broccoli and wilted spinach and steak with soy sauce with a half of guinness on the side. Yumyumyum. Also chilli tofu with noodles, I *think tofu has plenty of iron in it…[Read more]

That is quite a project, Sarvi! I love Madelinetosh yarn of all kinds. During soccer season, I was working on a shawl in one of her lovely pinks. Tomorrow I’m cleaning out the closet where my yarn is stashed and I’m determined to make it more organized and accessible. I could use a new hat. I don’t think I’ll ever tackle a sweater again until…[Read more]

I don’t think anyone here is listening to the weather man this time! Although the footage on the news of Nantucket was heartbreaking. It will be harder for the school district to call a snow day this time when they failed so badly last week. But my kids would be happy for some proper snow to play in.
I finished that cardigan from Seamwork. It…[Read more]

There’s another storm in the forecast for Sunday/Monday. I have an Ottobre blouse to finish and then I should cut out a pair of Field Trips.
Since I have the time, I’m pondering my 7yos spring/summer wardrobe. It would be great if I could use the next storm to get her input on a color palette. I sew cake, so I’ll be making pants, shorts, tees…[Read more]

Cooking and Baking 10 years agoHello! My daughter is arriving back in UK this week and is 29 weeks pregnant. She has requested liver and onions for dinner as she said she needs more iron in her diet. Anyone got any ideas for meals that are high in iron? She will eat anything!!!
