My daughter’s most worn items by far have been the first three O+S items I made: three Class Picnic Blouses (https://www.flickr.com/photos/130325089@N02/16191293655/). They were also the 3rd, 4th, and 5th pieces of clothing I’d ever sewn so was really thrilled that she grabbed them every time she spotted them.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years agoTucks on the garden party dress. That bodice is perfect for that. Some awesome box pleats or narrow pintucks.
I think for the preteen girls it is a really flattering top because it can disguise new “growth” that they might not yet be comfortable with.

Gigi’s most worn was a pair of afterschool pants. Teal baby corduroy embroidered with hot pink roses.
Least worn/loved? Book report dress.

She had two hopscotch tops she wore holes in to, one that she would wear multiple times a week.Jack wears his sandbox pant/shorts multiple times a week. I told him…[Read more]

*From memory* you will need to add maybe an inch or so to the top of the shorts?
I would add extra, sort of pin (with safety pins) the skirt and shorts together, and try them on the child. If you take out the placket, make sure the skirt will be wide enough to pull up.
I, very recently, added the Tea Party bloomers to the Hopscotch skirt, it…[Read more]

I found the Sunday Brunch a fait-to-generous fit. I would not have layered it over a jumper (sweater) but my girls always got a good amount of wear from their corresponding size.
The added bonus is it looks really cute a little fitted.

(this is the 6-12 months on my 18…[Read more] -

I have a pair of Layette pants and a bodysuit pinned to some Lisette lisette ready to make into pyjamas for baby Chloe. Both are size 0-3 months.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 10 years ago@FrancesSuzanne that sounds very exciting – proof that great minds are very much thinking alike here!
So how are you going to do them? Twin needle? Folded? Please not corded (I don’t know if this will work with a crosshatch). I haven’t done the crosshatch either but I am intrigued and can’t wait for all to be revealed.
