You could try, but you’ll need to baste the fabric into place rather than fusing it, which means the interfacing won’t be adhered to the fabric. It would probably be ok, but I haven’t tried it on this pattern so I can’t say for sure.

Ah yes! 47.5 is the hip measurements!
I’ll try grading it. -

Hi Vicki, sorry for the late reply. Since the elastic only goes around the sides and back you don’t need the full waist measurement of elastic.
I usually stitch one end in pace then try it on the kid before trimming the elastic and stitching the other end.
If I haven’t got the kid to hand then I adjust the elastic until the waist circumference of…[Read more] -

Hi Lyndsey,
Have you typed your hip measurement correctly above? I notice it’s different on the image you attached.
If it’s as per the written then a 12 with any necessary bust adjustment would be fine.fwiw,I measure 38(same high/full)/30/40 currently and made a straight size 10. It’s comfortably loose in the top half but more fitted below. Hence…[Read more] -

Hi there, anyone have any recommendations on which size?
High bust is 38”
Full bust is 41.5”
Waist is 35.5”
Hips are 37.5”If this were a shirt I’d probably go with the 12 and do a fba. If it were a skirt I’d cut a 18. That feels like a lot of blending between sizes. Thoughts?

Can I use fabric as a suitable substitute? All I have are cotton scraps – they wouldn’t add stiffness but provide an extra layer?
I am a newer sewist, so I only buy pattern and fabric for one project at a time. I have fabric and the Gallery tunic pattern, but don’t have any extra interfacing. All the stores are closed. The national…[Read more]

Unfortunately, I have two versions of the pattern! one that I bought digitally and one that I bought in paper version and I have mixed and matched and altered them to the point where they are all mixed together. The copyright code in the electronic version of the instructions that I have sometimes has a 1 and sometimes does not… Anyway I have…[Read more]

Short version of my long reply….
Use the instructions and pattern pieces that you have, and don’t worry if your instructions differ from what it says in the sew along.
(The pattern piece and the instructions go together. A minor change was made to both for a later printing, and that’s what’s reflected in the sew along. So don’t make any…[Read more]

Since you stitch your elastic down at first belt loop positions instead of stitching ends together, do you still cut elastic the waist measurement – 1 inch?

On my shirt pattern there is a box that says Liesl +Co 30102
LC018CL CLassic Shirt (1-1) A
Size 0-20DOes that mean I have the first printing?

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Right Front in the forum liesl + co: classic shirt 4 years ago
Thanks Todd.
I must have the first printing too. So, will this mean that our placket actually is 1/4″ further in, as the centre front is only a 1/4″ off the cut line, but we’re going to sew the placket on with a 1/2″ seam?
I know 1/4″ is probably neither here nor there in a shirt with as much ease as this, but I’m curious…
If I follow the…[Read more] -

Colleen, which printing of the the pattern do you have? You can tell by looking at the copyright box on both the pattern sheet and the instructions will tell you. Look for the smallest number you see there in the row of numbers. If the smallest number is 1, you have a copy from the first printing.
In the second printing, Liesl made a minor tweak…[Read more]

Good pick up and very good question.
I’ve got one cut out and ready to sew for the first time.
You’re right that the instructions differ. The cut line drawn on the pattern is certainly at the 1&1/4″ distance from the fabric edge.I tend to follow the written instructions and never look at photographed sew alongs, but now you’ve got me…[Read more]

The sew along says to trim 1 inch from the right front, but the written instructions say to trim 1 1/4 inch from the right front. Which is correct?

Hi EDB,
It’s nice to hear you have people looking out for you and time to sew!
Sleeve heads fitting into armscyes nicely is definitely a pattern designers forte. The sleeve from one pattern will almost certainly not go easily, if at all, into the armscye of another pattern.
If you’ve made the long sleeved classic shirt and the sleeve fits you…[Read more] - Load More
