Wow! Lots of sewing Heidi. Lucky you for having a four day weekend! I am sewing along with kids clothes week and have so far made two Seashore dresses and bloomers to match. I have a 4 day long weekend! I hope today I can finish off the Art Museum vest and hem my Appleton dress. And maybe make a Jalie Bella dress. I hope over this weekend I might be able to finish off my nieces quilt, it’s the last one of 4 tops I made nearly 5 years ago.
And tomorrow I get to help my nephew sew I himself a new onesie!

I wonder if small hands are an advantage? My BIL used to get me to pull lambs as my hands were smaller.

How frustrating @rhythmtyagi, it may soften yet or you could try giving it a scrub with a nailbrush and some yellow soap. That may help remove the dressing.

If she is only 8 I am wondering of she is only really after width? I have sewn for a obese child and her I found that was he case for her. I think what I would do is too split the front dress panel in half and add a few inches to the that.

I would add the same to the front bands and add quite a bit to the waist one…[Read more]

I got so many compliments when I wore my coat to work – from other teachers AND from students so its appeal crosses generational lines! I just got some wool/cashmere fabric from Mood (by mail) and it is so lovely I might cry a little. I am planning to make another in the next week or two.

So, before I get cracking, is this what a flat felled seam should look like from the outside? I’ve never done one before! This is not ironed and seam allowances weren’t measured, just having a test! Thank you.

Just wondering about the definition of a mashup. Is it limited to combining 2 or more Oliver and S patterns or can it also include changing up an Oliver and S pattern and combining an Oliver and S pattern with another pattern.
I hope and suspect that all these options are fine as we are a generous and relaxed community, but I thought I’d just check 🙂
