“Chloe’s” dress sounds like it will be lovely 🙂
I’ve retraced the tea party sundress in 6-12m with 1/4 seam allowances so I can make an Alabama Chanin dress with the symbol of the Rebel Alliance (Star Wars) on the skirt. I removed the seam allowances from the neckline so I can bind the neckline.
I’ve been slowly working my way through a Alabama…[Read more] -

@mama_knowles I look forward to seeing what you make and how you construct it.
@gailanncreates that’s a fantastic idea, I’m going to try it out, thank you!

Has anyone used this dress as a swim cover-up? What fabric would you use? Not terry cloth, too thick, but I can’t think what would be good?
I have made the dress before from knit and I like it, just thought it would work well for this.

Thanks! I looked on Pinterest and found something …two long sashes, one on each side seam of waistband, then tied to form a bow. While the felt tutorial is more along the lines of what I wanted, I got to wondering how well it would dry and iron for wearing. I am thinking of making the sashes same width as waistband but tapering larger as they go…[Read more]

You certainly can!! I been thinking of the very same thing. I am planning on using a pattern similar to that of the one I used on the bubble shorts. I have pattern printed out but still have yet to cut anything out.

Try making pintucks, rather than the marked tucks, and stitch them closer together to mimic the pleats for smocking.

@frances-suzanne or other smocksperts (smocking experts!) — I have cut a Music Class blouse and am wondering if I could do a TINY bit of smocking, almost like a very small dot or diamond, in place of the pintucks. I have cut my blouse from a pale grey-on-grey fabric and thought a tiny pop of color would be pretty. I wish I’d thought of it before…[Read more]

I could’ve sworn I’ve seen this, perhaps not for the Everyday Skirt, but I can’t recall where. If I remember, I’ll pop up a link for you. How about using this:
I think if you wanted it to be from fabric, you could add a seam allowance (maybe 1/4″) cut two…[Read more]

I want to add a bow to the front of the every day skirt on the waistband. It would not be adjustable like a belt but just attached to the waistband for embellishment. Has anyone done this or has anyone seen a tutorial they can recommend? I have seen this style in stores and thought it would look great with the Every Day skirt pattern and a tucked in tee.

The garden party dress is gorgeous @mama_knowles as is the sketchbook shirt on C! Fun colours on him too!
I have only just received notification that my emailed entry form to this year’s show was accepted after all! I have about three weeks to get everything sorted – eek! This year they have a design challenge section – tailored shirt – yay! Have…[Read more]

For the first time in months I have been sewing! I finished up the smocked Garden Party Dress and two of the Sketchbook shirts I promised my youngest son at the beginning of the summer. Pictures to come as soon as the rain let’s up.

I have made about 4 of these so far and making another one tonight. I found this forum and this is my first time posting. Thank you so much for this pattern. I made this first one for Father’s day to match her Diaper. The front chest piece seemed a bit wide for the front and kept dipping forward as she moved. So I added a a bit of elastic in the…[Read more]

Each one looks like a shiny blue bug
I could pick up each one
