Finished up my green vintage patterned blouse, the wienie dogs are down to a fit and mark where the button holes and buttons go. I added some hidden boning to the green blouse, along with a covered eyehook, wax thread loop, clever tacks, and an invisible hem. Oh! and I covered the buttons, and I’m so so so glad I went that route- the blouse looks…[Read more]

I grew up with a John Deere mechanic dad and both sets of my grandparents were farmers. I can totally see Jed’s excitement over a price reduction like that!

I’ll look out for your picture of your AP dress, Simpson5. I’d love to do it with both skirts – just for fun.

I don’t mind too much if I’m in the headspace, although company is even better 🙂 Some of the things have been in my mending pile since last year! I ended up with a spare day and felt like getting through my sewing “to do” list 🙂
Things done: blue onesie, school tracksiut pants mended, stripe jumper mended.
Things skipped: sewing brown buttons…[Read more] -

I can imagine that skirt on your twins 🙂 Elsa in particular. I hope it comes out well.
I’ve sewn my third baby onesie from Ottobre, there’s so many babies due this year I’m trying to get ahead on gifts. The onsies are so quick and easy and pair beautifully with the lullaby layette pants and jackets 🙂
Planning on working on my mending list…[Read more]

@motherof5 oh, I’m laughing. The registration for the Russian Egg demonstration is full, so now I can let the answering machine do the work. So it’s on to dinner and then a late night of sewing!

I went upstairs to sew, and the house phone started ringing off the hook. The paper made a misprint of the phone number in a listing featuring hay for sale. I keep having to explain that I do not have any hay and that this is the wrong number, and I can’t not answer the phone because I agreed to take registration for a church event.
