Britteny’s right. The darts don’t start until the size 2T. Below that they’re left out ’cause most toddlers have bellies bigger than their chests.
I’d start with the 18-24m size and cut the lining fabric (assuming it’s a cotton voile or something not too fancy) and use that as a muslin. Baste it and if it fits then there’s your lining already cut. -

Thank you so much for compiling all the line drawings and sharing them, Lotta! You’re awesome!

You are all welcome! I’m so happy you like it. 😀
I’ve had parts of it sitting on my computer for months and months and it didn’t feel right not to share!

I’m so surprised this one didn’t have the needed sales for another print run! This seems like everybody’s go-to fancy dress pattern.

Fantastic idea!! Can’t wait to share with the nieces {although it may be used for more “coloring”, than designing….initially}!

I don’t think the smaller sizes have the darts, I think just 2T, maybe 3T have them. I have a paper copy and it’s in with a sleeping baby or I would check for sure.

What a wonderful idea Sherry! I find my girls often have trouble visualising what a dress will look like in fabric. Cutting out inside the lines would definitely help! I may pick you up on that.

Lotta, what a thoughtful thing to do, thank you. I have downloaded and will print them all onto card stock, then cut out inside the lines to place over fabric to help granddaughter imagine what each outfit will look like finished.
Also going to give her mum a copy so they can work out next seasons wardrobe. Great way to build a wardrobe and…[Read more]

I cobbled together a colouring book with the Oliver + S line drawings from the back of the pattern envelopes. You can find a download link on the blog post linked above.

@Yirg You might be able to buy a copy from a store, for exmple in the UK the smaller size in paper is available here http://www.eternalmaker.com/fairy-tale-dress-pattern-oliver-s
I’ll definitely be buying it in the smaller size in paper now I know that it’s not being reprinted!

The Fairy Tale dress, in the small size range only, has indeed gone out of print. It’s still available as a digital pattern. As is always the case, when we near the end of our stock on an item we evaluate sales and determine if there is justification to do a reprint. This pattern wasn’t selling at the level required to maintain it in paper.
It…[Read more]

I think I might nearly be up to a muslin 🙂 In some ways the pattern no longer looks like the original, but I have a much better idea why most RTW and sewn straight from the pattern pants pretty much never fit!
It’s been about 4 hours work so far just on flat pattern adjustment and probably another hour or so before it’s ready for the muslin…[Read more] - Load More
