Accurate seam allowance is very important. Even though it is only 1/4″, that is 1/4″per seam and adds up quickly. Hope you give it another shot, it is a really great pattern.

If you use short sleeves you can always layer a long sleeve top or onsie under it, and she can wear it in warmer weather.
Looking forward to a sewing day today π I’ve got the latest pattern I’ve been modifying for me nearly ready to go. My husband has the car so I can’t go out π Sewing Day! π -

What size are you making? Can you put up a picture? I have made this a few times in different sizes and never had a problem.

Do I make it using apples or ants?
Perhaps I should choose

Even though they print from rolls, many 36″-wide printers are only able to print pieces up to a certain maximum length. I forget the exact length now (I always need to look it up when we have a long pattern), but it’s around 80-90 inches or so. If a pattern ends up being longer than this, we have to split it onto two sheets so it comes in under…[Read more]

Some of my patterns have been printed in two sheets, not sure about the reasoning- mostly the larger size ranges or adult patterns. I second looking for a local print shop, mine knew exactly what I needed and was better priced than the office supply chains.

It’s my understanding that 36″ wide paper comes on a roll. Should be able to print to whatever length you want.
Search for a print shop that will do blue prints. They’re not hard to find.

JoannaH, I think if you can get a good fit in the shoulders, and have the tunic glide over the rest of your body, it will look great.

Sew Alongs 11 years agoAny specific recommendation for the interfacing for the Parachute Polo? I have Pellon SF 101 but I think it’s a bit too heavy.

I’m chuckling to myself this morning Johannas. I saw the picture of JohannaO in the flickr group and thought the tunic was perfect, and wondered why she was asking for advice after the fact. Happy sewing Johanna!

I was just going to mention this, @aussie! Looks like it’s a versatile bow tie pattern–you can even make it for your dog…or probably cat.
